Plastic surgery

Palstic Surgery Raipur Chhattisgarh :

Ancient plastic surgery was first practised in India by sage susruta around 600 BC, Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty involving the restoration, reconstruction, or alteration of the human body. It can be divided into two categories. The first is reconstructive surgery which includes craniofacial surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery, and the treatment of burns

For almost 25 years army plastic surgeons practised modern plastic surgery

The specialty became glamorous when plastic surgeons after release from army service started to practice facial surgery to beautify faces of aging high society women

The present scope of plastic surgery:

Today, plastic surgery as a specialty has sprouted many sub-branches like-

  7. Paediatric plastic surgery
  8. Cosmetic (aesthetic) surgery

Cosmetic plastic surgery has emerged as the most glamorous sub-specialty. There is a lot of debate regarding which specialty is the most demanding. Surely, cosmetic plastic surgery is since the client (patient) is healthy otherwise and has come to you out of choice and not because she is sick, she has no insurance for the procedure and lastly desires a procedure with zero complications or side effects. This exerts a lot of pressure on the plastic surgeon during the Plastic surgery. Only the best plastic surgeons hence graduate to practising cosmetic plastic surgery.

cosmetic surgery Raipur, Chhattisgarh

Plastic surgery has two branches, cosmetic surgery and reconstructive plastic surgery. Cosmetic surgery aims to improve the aesthetic appearance of a person, while plastic surgery may include this, or just the reconstruction (reconstructive surgery). Reconstructive plastic surgery aims to improve function; however, it may also involve trying to approximate normal appearance, but that is not its primary function. Reconstructive plastic surgery is often referred as simply reconstructive surgery.

Some parts of the world completely separate cosmetic surgery and plastic surgery and term cosmetic surgery as elective surgery, non-essential surgery, surgery which the patient chooses to have; while plastic surgery is understood to mean surgery to reconstruct or improve appearance after injury or illness.

Lip Enhancement Raipur, Chhattisgarh

What is a lip augmentation?

Lip augmentation, also called lip fillers, lip enhancement or lip injections can temporarily or permanently improve the size and shape of your lips.

As you age your lips become thinner and less defined due to your body producing less protein collagen.

Lip augmentation can increase the fullness and enhance the definition of your lips to create a more desirable and youthful appearance and defined smile. It can also help turn the corners of the mouth upwards.

The treatment can be tailored to your needs providing a natural or fuller look.

Are there different type of lip augmentation?

There are two main types of lip augmentation:

Using a synthetic implant - the most common material used to enlarge lips is a dermal filler. There are many types of lip enhancer dermal fillers.

The most frequently used lip fillers are hyaluronic acid fillers or gels such as Restylane. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in your body so an allergic reaction is unlikely. The amount of hyaluronic acid injected can be controlled, you can have the injections gradually over a series of appointments to achieve your desired look and, they break down naturally with results lasting up to six months.

Other synthetic implants such as GORE-TEX and AlloDerm can also add volume to your lips but there is a chance that your body will reject these implants.

Using your own body tissue – such as a fat or dermis graft. This is long lasting and as it’s your own tissue you will have no allergy problems. It can however take more time as the tissue needs extracting.

Fat can be harvested from your body (usually your abdomen, hips or thighs) by liposuction. It is then processed and cleansed by being spun at a high speed in a centrifuge before being injected into your lips.

Dermis can be a bi-product of another operation where it would otherwise be discarded such as an abdominal reduction, breast reduction, facelift or a strip of skin can be removed from underneath your buttock crease or a scar. The outer skin is removed and the shaped dermis graft placed into your lips.

What does a lip augmentation involve? :

Lip augmentation is a non-surgical procedure that is performed under local anaesthetic. At Ramsay it is carried out by a fully qualified and highly experienced nurse or consultant.

The procedure typically takes around 30 minutes to perform and you can resume your normal daily activities immediately after treatment. If you opt for fat injection, you will have liposuction beforehand to remove the fat from another part of your body.

Fillers or fat is injected using very fine needles in small controlled doses just under the skin surface of your lips where enhancement is desired to give a smoother, firmer and more voluminous appearance.

Liposuction Surgery Raipur Chhattisgarh

Liposuction and Liposculpture (Fat Removal)

Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty ("fat modeling"), liposculpture suction lipectomy ("suction-assisted fat removal") or simply lipo, is a cosmetic surgery operation that removes fat from many different sites on the human body. Areas affected can range from the abdomen, thighs and buttocks, to the neck, backs of the arms and elsewhere.

What is a liposuction? :

Liposuction surgery, also known as fat removal surgery or liposculpture, is the permanent removal of stubborn fatty deposits that are difficult to shift despite a regular exercise and healthy eating regime.

Liposuction removes fat from specific areas of your body by sucking it out through a tube. It is most often performed on your buttocks, hips, thighs and stomach to give better shape and definition to these problem areas.

It is not a weight loss tool and is best performed on people who are a normal weight and in areas where the skin is tight.

What does a liposuction involve? :

Liposuction is typically carried out as a day case procedure under local or general anaesthetic and takes between one and two hours depending on the amount of fat you are having removed and the area being treated.

Your surgeon will make a small incision in the area being treated and insert a thin plastic tube called a cannula. The cannula is used to loosen the fat. The other end of this cannula is attached to a powerful high-pressure vacuum and fat deposits are removed quickly and efficiently from beneath your skin.

Some surgeons inject solutions into the area being treated, known as a wet technique. Others use dry liposuction.

You may have multiple areas treated at the same time.

Your incision will finally be stitched using dissolvable sutures and bandaged.

What are the benefits of a liposuction? :

There are a number of benefits of liposuction including:

Instant results.

A firmer, more contoured and proportional appearance.

Improved health due to fat loss.

Often an improved sense of wellbeing.

Permanent body fat loss so even if you increase your body fat then it will not return to the treated areas.

Helping weight loss patients lose the last remaining pockets of fat.

A wider choice of clothes.

Removing a certain type of benign fatty tumour known as lipomas.

Treating gynecomastia, an embarrassing condition in which men develop fatty breast tissue.

Reducing excessive sweating and chafing by targeting sweat glands, and reducing the body’s ability to produce sweat in these areas.

Treating Lipodystrophy syndrome, where fat accumulates in one part of your body, to create a more natural looking body fat distribution.

What is the difference between a liposuction and a tummy tuck? :

Both liposuction and a tummy tuck are types of body contouring surgery.

A tummy tuck involves surgically removing excess skin often after pregnancy and weight loss from your abdominal area. Your abdominal muscles are also realigned and tightened to strengthen and support a flatter abdomen and your belly button may be repositioned.

Liposuction involves removing fat deposits only and can be performed on many areas of the body not just your abdomen.

A tummy tuck and liposuction can be performed together to improve the definition and contour of your abdomen.

Scar Removal :

This procedure is usually performed under local anaesthesia when it is felt that an existing scar can be improved because of particular circumstances or complications of healing in the first instance, or because the procedure is likely to be carried out in a better manner. Post-operative pain is usually minimal. Sutures (stitches) are usually removed in four to six days from the face and seven to ten days from other parts of the body. However, dissolving sutures are frequently used on the trunk and limbs to avoid post-operative stitch marks.

Body :

Stitch marks are much less likely to appear on the face as stitches are removed early. All new scars will initially be red. Fading occurs within six to twenty four months depending on the scars location and the patient’s skin type.

Acne Scars :

Scars caused by active acne are difficult to treat. On the face it is sometimes possible to cut out the deep scars or to lift them to normal skin level. Dermabrasion and chemical peels have been used to reduce the overall depth of scars and to tighten the skin. More recently laser resurfacing has been used for the same purpose and has become very popular. It should be stressed that these treatments do not remove the scars and at best, give a moderate improvement. None of these surgical procedures are suitable away from the face. Other procedures that can occasionally be helpful are facelifts to tighten the skin and simple excision of badly affected areas.

Burn Scars :

Deeper burns tend to heal with scars. Children are particularly badly affected and suffer thick red hypertrophic scars as a result of scalds. The main route of treatment is with pressure garments, but silicone applications can also be helpful. Surgery is used to replace very severe scars with skin grafts and to reduce tension in the scars by putting in extra skin extensions.

Keloids :

These are a difficult to resolve scars. The easiest to treat are earlobe keloids which sometimes appear after piercing and often simple excision is adequate. Elsewhere a course of steroid injections are the main treatment, rarely, excisions to try and reduce recurrence of keloids can be helpful.

  • To extract the right amount of fat

Breast Augmentation

Augmentation mammoplasty or breast augmentation is a surgical procedure to increase the size, shape or fullness of a woman's breasts. The surgeon places silicone, saline or alternative composite breast implants under the chest muscles or breast tissue.

  • Enlarge breasts that are naturally small.
  • Restore breast size and shape after pregnancy, weight loss or breastfeeding.
  • Restore symmetry when the breasts are asymmetrical
  • Restore the breast(s) after surgery as treatment for breast cancer or some other condition or event that affected the size and shape of the breast.

Tummy Tuck

What is Abdominoplasty? :

An abdominoplasty, often called a tummy tuck, is a cosmetic surgery procedure that tightens your stomach muscles and removes loose skin and fat from your abdomen to create a flatter, more toned and shapelier tummy.

What does an Abdominoplasty involve? :

An abdominoplasty is a relatively straightforward procedure that typically takes up to three hours depending on the type of abdominoplasty you choose. It is usually performed under general anaesthetic. There are a number of variations of an abdominoplasty and your cosmetic surgeon will talk you through the different options and offer advice about the best choice for you. They include.

Full abdominoplasty – is more major surgery than the other options and takes longer to perform. It may be your best option if you have a lot of excess skin. A curved cut will be made from one hip to the other and fat is removed using liposuction. Your surgeon will cut under the skin above your belly button and pull it down and tighten it.

Mini abdominoplasty – is suitable if you have just a little excess skin and usually takes around one hour. Your surgeon will make a small incision just above the pubic area to remove this surplus skin.

Endoscopic abdominoplasty - is recommended if only the muscles of your abdominal wall need to be tightened and typically takes one hour to perform. Your surgeon will make small incisions and use special surgical instruments to tighten the muscles.

What are the benefits of an abdominoplasty? :

The benefits of an abdominoplasty are that it allows you to regain your figure, feel more confident about your body shape and, wear a wider choice of outfits. Often loose excess skin develops due to age, pregnancy and extreme weight loss and may cause feelings of self-consciousness. It is suitable for both men and women.

As a tummy tuck surgically tightens weak muscles and removes excess skin and fat it flattens your abdomen and it can also improve your posture as the tightened muscles support your spine. .

A flat and well-toned abdomen is something many of us strive for through exercise and weight control. Sometimes these methods cannot achieve our goals.

Even individuals of otherwise normal body weight and proportion can develop an abdomen that protrudes or is loose and sagging. The most common causes of this include:

    • Aging
    • Heredity
    • Pregnancy
    • Prior surgery
    • Significant fluctuations in weight

A tummy tuck is not a substitute for weight loss or an appropriate exercise program. Although the results of a tummy tuck are technically permanent, the positive outcome can be greatly diminished by significant fluctuations in your weight. For this reason, individuals who are planning substantial weight loss or women who may be considering future pregnancies would be advised to postpone a tummy tuck. A tummy tuck cannot correct stretch marks, although these may be removed or somewhat improved if they are located on the areas of excess skin that will be excised.ing in all parts of India and the world. The obsession is such that girls and ladies alike take loans for getting the plastic surgery procedure done from all section of society in India. The body dysmorphic syndrome is partly responsible for this rise in clients seeking cosmetic plastic surgery in large numbers in India and from all parts of the world.

A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that improves visible signs of aging in the face and neck, such as:

  • Sagging in the middle of your face
  • Deep creases below the lower eyelids
  • Deep creases along the nose extending to the corner of the mouth
  • Fat that has fallen or has disappeared
  • Loss of skin tone in the lower face that creates jowls
  • Loose skin and excess fatty deposits under the chin and jaw can give even a person of normal weight the appearance of a double chin

The loss of youthful contours in the face can be due to a variety of factors, including heredity, gravity, environmental conditions, and stress. Rejuvenation procedures typically performed in conjunction with a facelift are brow lift, to correct a sagging or deeply furrowed brow, and eyelid surgery to rejuvenate aging eyes.

A body lift improves the shape and tone of the underlying tissue that supports fat and skin. Excess sagging fat and skin are removed to treat conditions caused in part by poor tissue elasticity. Excess sagging fat and skin are removed and the procedure(s) can improve a dimpled, irregular skin surface, which is commonly known as cellulite. A body lift may include these areas:

  • Sagging in the middle of your face
  • Deep creases below the lower eyelids
  • Deep creases along the nose extending to the corner of the mouth
  • Fat that has fallen or has disappeared
  • Loss of skin tone in the lower face that creates jowls
  • Loose skin and excess fatty deposits under the chin and jaw can give even a person of normal weight the appearance of a double chin
  • Abdominal area – locally or extending around the sides and into the lower back area
  • Buttocks that may be low, flat or shaped unevenly
  • Groin that may sag into inner thigh
  • Thigh – the inner, outer, or posterior thigh, or the thigh’s circumference

Body lifts are not intended strictly for the removal of excess fat. Liposuction alone can remove excess fat deposits where the skin has good elasticity and is able to naturally conform to new body contours. In cases where skin elasticity is poor, a combination of liposuction and body lift techniques may be recommended.

male breast reduction

Gynaecomastia Surgery (male breast / man boobs reduction surgery) :

What is a gynaecomastia? :

Gynaecomastia is a common condition in men and boys where their breasts swell and become abnormally large due to a sex hormone imbalance.

These enlarged breasts are most common in new-born baby boys, teenage boys and older men as a result of their bodies producing more oestrogen than they should compared to testosterone and this causes their breast tissue to grow. Weight gain can also increase oestrogen levels and excess fat. Medications, drugs, alcohol and other health conditions may also cause gynaecomastia.

Also known as male breasts, man boobs or moobs, this condition can make a man feel unmanly and self-conscious about their appearance.

What does a gynaecomastia surgery involve? :

Gynaecomastia surgery is often performed to remove the excess tissue that is causing gynaecomastia. There are two options depending on the type of excess tissue you have:

Liposuction – is performed if you have excess breast fat.

Liposuction for treating gynecomastia is typically performed using local or general anaesthetic. It involves a small incision on each side of your chest, the edge of your areola or within your armpit. Through these incisions your cosmetic surgeon will insert a thin tube to loosen the excess fat and remove it using a high-power vacuum and sculpt a new more natural chest contour.

A. Male breast reduction – is performed if you have excess breast gland tissue.

B. Male breast reduction surgery is usually carried out under general anaesthetic.

C. It involves making a cut around your nipple that allows your surgeon to remove the tissue.

D. Cuts may be extended and your nipples repositioned if you have a lot of tissue to remove.

E. The procedure will typically take 90 minutes.

F. Your cosmetic surgeon will take care to place incisions so that the resulting scars are as inconspicuous as possible.

Liposuction and breast reduction surgery can be performed at the same time if you have an excess of both fatty and glandular tissue.

What are the benefits of a gynaecomastia surgery? :

The benefits of gynaecomastia surgery are that it will restore a naturally masculine appearance to your chest. With a firmer, flatter and better shaped chest, men often feel more confident with increased self-esteem and are able to wear more fitted tops and reveal their chests when they want.

Gynaecomastia surgery is typically a short procedure with a quick recovery and virtually invisible scars.

Facial Surgery :

Facial surgery remains one of the most popular forms of cosmetic surgery performed in the Dry Cosmetoplastic Centre Raipur every year.

Whether you are unhappy about the ageing process or whether you are suffering from premature lines and wrinkles due to excessive sun exposure, smoking or hereditary factors, facial surgery can help recreate the natural, youthful and fresh appearance you desire.

From your very first consultation, our surFacial Surgerygeons will provide first class information and advice to help you identify the treatment most suitable for your personal requirements. You will also be given time to reflect upon your decision before any agreement to provide surgery takes place.

Due to genetics, use of certain medications, or other unspecified reasons, some men develop the appearance of enlarged breasts. It is estimated that up to 50% of men in the United States experience some degree of gynecomastia during their lifetime. Gynecomastia can present at any age, and male breast reduction can be performed safely and successfully on teenagers and adult men alike.

While losing weight can help reduce the appearance of male breasts for some men, often times there is excess glandular tissue as well, causing even very lean patients to notice enlarged breasts. Currently, male breast reduction is the only consistently effective treatment for gynecomastia that has long-lasting, if not permanent, results. Following this surgery, patients commonly say they feel comfortable going shirtless for the first time in years and report an enhanced sense of self-confidence. If you are uncomfortable or self-conscious about the appearance of your chest, or if you find yourself avoiding certain activities because you are afraid to show your chest, male breast reduction is an option to consider. With the help of a qualified cosmetic surgeon, the procedure offers dramatic, near-immediate improvements with minimal scarring.

nose job

Rhinoplasty enhances facial harmony and the proportions of your nose. It can also correct impaired breathing caused by structural defects in the nose. Rhinoplasty surgery can change:

  • Nose size in relation to facial balance
  • Nose width at the bridge or in the size and position of the nostrils
  • Nose profile with visible humps or depressions on the bridge
  • Nasal tip that is enlarged or bulbous, drooping, upturned or hooked
  • Nostrils that are large, wide, or upturned
  • Nasal asymmetry

If you are thinking about getting a nose job, set up an appointment with your surgeon to discuss it. During that meeting, talk about your goals and tell the doctor what bothers you about your nose and how you would like to change it. Keep in mind that there is no such thing as a perfect nose. Surgery, though, can enhance facial features and emphasize your unique and natural beauty. A plastic surgeon can describe the facial features that make you unique and tell you how changes would enhance your appearance. The surgeon will evaluate the structures of your nose and other facial features. After this evaluation, he or she can tell you if your expectations are realistic. The surgeon will also consider your overall health and should discuss with you the risks, recovery time, and costs involved. There are various techniques for reshaping the nose. Once you decide to go ahead, your surgeon should describe exactly what he or she proposes to do.

scar removal

When the skin is in the process of recovering from an injury, whether the result of an accident, surgery, a burn, or acne, scarring will occur wherever multiple layers of the skin have been affected. Once a scar forms, it is permanent but may be made less visible or relocated surgically. Different scars require different treatments. A few common scars include:

  • Burn scars. Severe burns that destroy large sections of skin cause the skin to heal in a puckered way. As the skin heals, muscles and tendons may be affected in this "contracting" movement.
  • Keloid scars are a result of the skin's overproduction of collagen after a wound has healed. These scars generally appear as growths in the scar site.
  • Hypertrophic scars, unlike keloids, do not grow out of the boundaries of the scar area, but because of their thick, raised texture, can be unsightly and may also restrict the natural movement of muscles and tendons.
  • Facial scars can be unattractive simply because of where they appear on the face, while others affect facial expressions.

What Is Hymenoplasty? :

Hymen repair, or hymenoplasty, is a simple operation which involves the surgical repair of the torn hymen. It includes the removal of the torn edges before stitching the hymen back in place with fine dissolvable sutures. The hymen is a thick membranous layer of tissue which encircles the inside of the vaginal entrance and allows the escape of menstrual blood. While some hymens are so elastic that they do not tear even during intercourse, we know that for most women the hymen is usually torn at the lower part during first intercourse, after tampon insertion, or through some exercises.

Hymen repair is often performed under local anaesthetic with sedation, but can also be performed under general anaesthetic if a patient prefers. This surgery is minimally invasive and is a day case procedure. The hymen has a secondary layer that can be sown up to cover the torn skin. As it grafts together once more, the hymen will appear intact. If for any reason this is not possible then a new hymen can be created from the lip of the vagina.

Although many women are too embarrassed to raise the issue with a surgeon, the good news is that an effective, straightforward solution exists to correct this condition and can be treated discreetly.

If there has been a break, what hymenoplasty does is allows the hymen to be restored back to its initial, intact state.

A. Hymenoplasty is a relatively safe procedure that tends to carry few risks and side effects. However any operation carries a small risk of infection and prolonged bleeding, as well as those associated with anaesthetic.

Any complication from the hymen repair surgery itself is very rare. Occasionally there is a resulting problem of hymen tightness or hymen over-correction. This is where the opening becomes narrowed, meaning that the next act of intercourse will be difficult. However this rarely causes problems in the long-term.

A. We’d recommend at least 30 days between the operation and having sexual intercourse for the first time again.

A.The procedure takes approximately 30-45 minutes.

Vaginoplasty? :

After childbirth the vaginal muscles are stretched and, although postnatal physiotherapy and exercises can help, the vagina often does not regain its normal tone and remains lax. This can cause dissatisfaction for both partners during sexual intercourse. The perineal body (the muscle between the vagina and the anus) can also be damaged by childbirth which results in the entrance to the vagina gaping open. Vaginoplasty, or vaginal rejuvenation, is a procedure that corrects these problems resulting in a tighter feel, both inside and at the entrance to the vagina.

When can I resume sexual intercourse? :

Sexual activity can be resumed 4-6 weeks after the procedure.

When can I exercise? :

Gentle exercise can usually be resumed 2-4 weeks after surgery.

When can I drive a car? :

You should be comfortable enough to drive after 2 weeks but you should always check with your insurance company first.

When can I go back to work? :

You would be able to return to work usually after 2-4 weeks.

Aftercare? :

After discharge from the hospital you can call the hospital day or night for any advice and, should the need arise, you can visit the hospital to see the resident doctor. In the event of a complication directly related to your surgery which may require further treatment, your surgeon and hospital will provide all necessary care without further cost (exclusions apply).

You will be seen by your surgeon for a follow up visit after six weeks and you will be given detailed information about your care during the immediate post operative period.

What are the risks? :

All surgical procedures carry some risk. Your surgeon will discuss these in detail with you at your consultation.

Additional information Duration of Surgery: 45 minutes.

Hospital Stay: 24 hours (approximate)

Anaesthesia: General

Recovery Period: 2-4 weeks (approximate)

As with all surgery there is always a small risk of complications. Infection is minimised by antibiotics given at the time of surgery but if infection does occur this will cause discomfort and delay healing.

The stitches used for vaginoplasty are similar to those used after childbirth and dissolve naturally after 5-7 days. They do not usually need to be removed. Excess scar tissue can form which may occasionally cause the vagina to become too narrow and this can cause discomfort with intercourse. Some women also complain of loss of sensation at the entrance to the vagina due to damage to the sensitive nerve endings in the area.

Most women, however, find that the results of surgery are very satisfactory and their sexual function and pleasure is enhanced after vaginoplasty.

The "liquid facelift" restores facial volume, reduces wrinkles, and provides a degree of facial rejuvenation. The liquid is typically an injectable filler (Restylane, Juvederm and others) in conjunction with Botox which relax facial lines

These liquid fillers and injectable products are a fantastic way to do so without the need for unnecessary surgery. If you have mild jowls or suffer from the typical effects of middle-age, including vertical lip lines, volume loss, lines along the sides of your nose and chin or crow’s feet, then you should experience great benefits from a liquid facelift. Another thing to mention is that liquid products are capable of fixing asymmetries. So this is another added bonus that one can experience without the need of an actual facelift. At one time, collagen injections were all the rage. But in today’s world, they are too reactive and unnecessary. There are actually better options now, and through science and technology there are methods that are newer and better and they even use your own fat.
